Happy 2008 Cutters
Hey Everyone!!!
We have now completed our 3rd show and our season end is coming up very very quickly. We have 1 more scheduled show for the year and are attempted to have a make up show the end of Sept or early Oct. Will keep you posted on this as soon as info is firmed up. Your directors will very soon have the date in place for the year end annual general meeting and awards. This will be a crucial meeting for all members, as the future of the club will be being discussed. If you wish to be involved and share your opinions this will be the venue to do so. Please do not miss this opportunity to become involved, because again the future of the club depends on you. We are in the process of updating the 2008 standings, and please keep in mind that to qualify for year end awards, each member must attend 50 % of completed shows.
Huge thank you to the Dejong family who welcomed our club to their new home. The facility was perfect! From the footing, to the cattle pens at the rear which made settling the cattle fast and easy. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a great partnership. Although we received fewer entries then expected, the cattle were the best we've had all year and fun was had by all. We had 2 new ladies join our club on the weekend, Maryanne and Kathy. It was wonderful to see Maryanne's new horse, Handsome Pep, carry her to the top of her 1st class and place in the 2nd. Her beaming smile is what makes it all worth while!!
Congratulations once again Maryanne. It was also great to be able to wish a happy "65" birthday to Fred Mackenzie who had a great day on his horse "Tuffy". We would like to send out a special thank you to Cliff White & Randy Brandt. Without your help to settle the herds, & give help as corner or turn back riders, we would be lost. Also thanks to Don Ellis, Norm Majeau, Marty & Taylor Ross and Janice Reiter for lending a hand and making so the rest of us can come out and play.
If you are interested in seeing how fellow club members are fairing in the BC and Canadian clubs, please check out www.cuttingsnews.com and www.ccha.ca. some of our locals are doing outstanding this season. Lets all give them our support.
See ya all in the pen.
Clinic Schedule:
June 7&8, July 5&6 Aug.30&31 - Coghlan Creek Farms
We
are VERY excited to offer a summer series with Kevin Tienkamp!
Kevin will work with us on cattle (when available), and the
mechanical cow. For all of you that have not had an opportunity
to work with Kevin, he is one of the best non-pro instructors you will
find. If there is a flaw with either you or your horse, or your
combined team, he will find it and work towards fixing it. Book
early and be prepared to learn lots and ride hard.
June 21 & September 6 - Coghlan Creek Farms
For those of you that had a chance to work with Wendy Garrard last year, I'm sure you'll agree that there is not a more patient, calm or encouraging trainer around. Wendy will not only build your confidence, but help you develop your skills in the cutting pen. Once again, book early for your sessions with Wendy.
